Overview

This Privacy Policy applies to all apps by Jacobs Language Services: LinguaAI Pro, LinguaAI Admin, LinguaAI Studio, LinguaAI Terminology, The Verdict, and Sillage.

The LinguaAI apps use a "Bring Your Own Key" (BYOK) model for AI features, meaning your conversations go directly to the AI provider you choose. The Verdict uses The Movie Database (TMDB) for movie and series information — also BYOK. Sillage uses the Fragella API for fragrance data — also BYOK.

What LinguaAI Doesn't Collect

Thanks to the BYOK architecture, LinguaAI does not collect, store, or have access to:

• Your Conversations: All interactions go directly from your device to the AI provider. LinguaAI never accesses your prompts or responses.
• Your API Keys: Keys are stored securely in your device's keychain and never transmitted externally.
• Personal Data: No names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other personally identifiable information.
• Usage Analytics: No tracking of how you use the app, what models you use, or what prompts you create.
• Device Information: No collection of device, operating system, or location data.

What May Be Collected

Crash Reports (Optional)

If you opt in, crash reports may be sent to help identify bugs. These contain technical information about the crash but not your conversations, API keys, or personal data. Disable crash reporting in app settings.

App Purchase Information

When you purchase through the App Store, Apple processes your payment. A transaction receipt is received from Apple but payment details remain with Apple. Apple's privacy policy governs this transaction.

How Your Data Flows

Direct Connection to AI Providers

When you send a prompt:

1. Your device retrieves your API key from the secure keychain
2. Your prompt is sent directly to the AI provider's servers
3. The provider processes your request and responds to your device
4. At no point does your data pass through LinguaAI's servers

Microphone & Audio Transcription (LinguaAI Studio)

LinguaAI Studio can use your device's microphone for real-time transcription. When you use this feature:

1. Audio is captured via your device's built-in microphone
2. The audio stream is sent directly to your chosen transcription provider (ElevenLabs or Deepgram)
3. The provider processes the audio and returns a text transcription to your device
4. LinguaAI does not store, retain, or have access to your audio data

Microphone access requires your explicit permission via the system prompt. You can revoke microphone access at any time in your device's Settings. Each transcription provider's privacy policy governs how they handle the audio data they receive.

iCloud Sync (Optional)

If you enable iCloud sync, app data is stored in your personal iCloud account. For LinguaAI apps, this includes your saved prompts, personal styles, and settings. For The Verdict, this includes your rankings and shared group data.

When using group sharing features in The Verdict, ranking data is shared between group members via iCloud. Only the data you choose to share within a group is visible to other members.

All iCloud data is encrypted and stored in your iCloud account. We cannot access your iCloud data. Apple's iCloud privacy policy applies.

Third-Party Services

AI Providers (LinguaAI Apps)

When using LinguaAI apps, you directly interact with third-party AI providers. Each has its own privacy policy:

TMDB (The Verdict)

The Verdict uses The Movie Database (TMDB) API to retrieve movie and series information such as titles, posters, descriptions, and ratings. Like the LinguaAI apps, The Verdict uses a BYOK model — you provide your own TMDB API key. When you search for a title, your query is sent directly from your device to TMDB's servers using your key. No personal information is included in these requests. TMDB's privacy policy applies: themoviedb.org/privacy-policy.

This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

Fragella (Sillage)

Sillage uses the Fragella API for fragrance data such as notes, accords, and perfume details. You provide your own Fragella API key. Queries go directly from your device to Fragella's servers. Fragella's privacy policy applies: fragella.com/privacy.

Reviewing each third-party provider's privacy policy is recommended.

Data Security

• Keychain Storage: API keys use hardware-level encryption in your device's secure keychain
• No Data Transmission: Since data isn't collected, there's no risk of interception on external servers
• Direct HTTPS: All communication uses encrypted HTTPS connections

Children's Privacy

LinguaAI is not directed at children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect information from children. Contact info@linguaai.net if you believe your child has provided information.

Your Rights

Because LinguaAI doesn't collect personal data, there's no data to provide, correct, or delete. However, you have complete control:

• API Keys: Add, change, or remove at any time in settings
• iCloud Data: Disable sync and delete data from your iCloud account
• App Data: Delete the app and all its data at any time

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

International Users

LinguaAI is available worldwide. Since data goes directly to AI providers, processing location depends on your chosen provider and their data centers.
